Grief comes in many forms and learning about it from one life event really can give you skills in recognizing and dealing with it in others. What Darlene’s book did for me was to be OK with my feelings but not get stuck in that place. When you’re hungry, you should eat; and eat appropriately. When you are no longer hungry, move on to other activities. This is where for me the “normal” came from. My emotions are not imprisoned, they are on their way to a healthy life in balance of memories held on to and new ones beginning.
